The purpose of OSHA’s National Fall Prevention Stand-Down is to raise awareness to prevent fall hazards in construction. Fatalities caused by falls from elevation continue to be a leading cause of death for construction workers, accounting for 279 of the 806 construction fatalities recorded in 2012. Those deaths were prevent- able. Fall prevention safety standards were among the top 10 most frequently cited OSHA standards, during year 2014.

In recognition of the importance of fall prevention in construction, Suncoast Safety Council and the OSHA Alliance are hosting a Fall Prevention Seminar and Demonstration presented by Capital Safety.

Capital Safety’s Territory Sales Manager, David Riddle, will discuss essential fall prevention concepts and demonstrate the physics of falls and their impact on the human body. By use of his Mobile Fall Demonstrator, he can demonstrate the impact of falls from various heights, and how proper rigging and harnesses prevent injuries.

Suncoast Safety Council invites you to attend this FREE seminar discussing fall protection. The seminar will address the following topics:

• Injuries and deaths attributed to falls from height
• The physics of a human body falling and stopping
• Various harnesses and their applications
• Types and proper employment of anchors and lanyards
